"Ho-ho-ho! Bienvenidos, amigos! It’s good to see you! Do you know who I am?" Who is he?
"Santa Claus, right! THAT'S who!"
Henry the Elf has a book.
It was too heavy to hold.
But he managed to give it to Santa.
Santa getting ready to tell the story to the elves.
"WHAT is his name?" Do you recognize him of the one who is playing as Ebenezer Scrooge? Who is he?
"SWIPER THE FOX! Hey, you're GOOD at this game!"
and find out if MAYBE, by helping a friend,
on the night before Christmas,
Are you ready? Here's the story...
"It starts in a forest, and all you know."
(narrating:) "It's a Christmassy forest,
it's sprinkled with snow!"
(narrating:) "And look! There
What are their names?"
YOU know who they are, tell Santa!
(They wave.)
(narrating:) "Right! Dora and Boots!" (Enjoy the story!)
It's called… "NOCHEBUENA!" Boots added.
"That's what we call a Christmas Eve party!"
about the party!" Boots explains.
YUMMY treats!" Dora adds.
But Benny is TOO excited because… "OOOH,
caramelos!" said Benny. (WAIT!)
"NOT YET, Benny!" said Isa.
"Wait until the party starts!"
"And everyone gets dressed up
"It's the best party of the year!"
(How about a song?) "Sing with us!"
(music begins) Ready for this?
(Nochebuena, Nochebuena!)
I brought donuts for Benny,
It's our favorite time of the year!
(Christmas time is here!)
(Nochebuena, Nochebuena!)
(Nochebuena, Nochebuena!)
Let's all decorate (Big Red Chicken is helping Dora with just that!)
(Nochebuena, Nochebuena!)
NOCHEBUENAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
"The best part of Nochebuena is when we all
give each other Christmas presents!"
"Christmas is a time for giving!" says Isa. (Indeed!)
Uh-oh, it's Swiper! (Ebenezer Swiper!)
If he swipes on Christmas
again,
he'll get on the naughty list!
Dora asks Santa if she can help.
Dora helping Swiper get off the naughty list.
There’s no swiping on Christmas!
A cat! Help Dora stop Swiper from swiping, because it’s not the way to go! Everyone say, "No, Swiper, no!"
Now he's sneaking up on a pig! Say, "No, Swiper, no!"
Now he's sneaking up on a seal! What do we say? No, Swiper, no!!
Mr. Troll didn't know that Dora is at the bridge for a different reason (to travel through time) rather than to cross it so she tells him. "But, we don't want to go over your bridge, Mr. Troll!" she said.
Mr. Troll has three riddles. Here is the first one. Riddle #1 goes like this: "This reindeer can be seen wherever he goes;
he can light up the sky with his shine red nose!" Do you know what his name is?
Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer! That’s right! One down, two to go!
Riddle #2: "He's got a buttoned nose and coal for each eye; he's a snowman…
Can you guess the name of this guy?" What’s the snowman's name?
Frosty the Snowman, si! One riddle left!
Riddle #3: "He's got a white beard and rides on a sleigh; he says, 'Ho-ho-ho!' delivering gifts Christmas Day!"
Do you know who it is?
Santa, right!
Swiper explains to Mr. Troll that Santa won't give any gifts for him because he's on the naughty list.
"But I'll help you through time like I said I would.
Traveling to the past and the future is fun.
And I've got traveling capes for everyone!"
"¡Gracias, Señor Troll!" said Dora.
"But don't you wanna come with us?" (Note: This and the following scene is only from the DVD version and cut off on other versions.)
Mr. Troll wishes he could but… "I can't leave my bridge. Someone might wanna cross, and then I'll miss a chance to be grumpy!"
How DO these things work anyway?
"Swiper, do you know how they work?" asked Dora.
"I would have, I know!" Swiper replied.
"Ask him," Dora suggested.
Swiper says no. "I don't wanna ask!"
Dora cheers him on. "Come on, you can do it!"
"That's true." So Swiper decides to do it.
"Uh, excuse me, Mr. Troll," asked Swiper. "How do the capes work?"
(Note: In the non-extended version, this scene comes straight after Dora thanking Mr. Troll.)
"It's a magical, mystical, time travel cape!"
"To get it to work you must shake, shake, shake, shake!"
"Put your hands out to your side and grab your capes like this!"
"Shake your cape!" (Ready?!)
(How about a song?)
Dora and Swiper realized they are in the past.
Look, it's Grumpy Little Troll!
But, did he still sing his "Grumpy Song" when he was young?
Looks like he does! "I'm the Grumpy Little Troll,
who lives under the BRIIIIIIIIIIDGE!!!" he sang.
It's a puppy with a bone.
Swiper got his first ornament!
"Look! The babies all have presents!"
"Uh-oh!" gasped Swiper. (Did he STILL like to swipe when he was a baby and hurt others feelings? Let's find out.)
She starts to burst into tears.
So did the other babies! (BIG mistake, Baby Swiper!)
"Oh, no!" said Swiper. "I didn't mean to make the other babies cry on Christmas."
(Did you see what Baby Swiper just did to Swiper's travel cape?!)
The babies got them back, but it didn't fix anything.
They're still upset at how rude Baby Swiper was.
"Dora! We've gotta make them feel better!"
"NO ONE should cry on Christmas! Can you do something?"
"I think I might know the way."
"But I'm gonna need YOUR help!"
"Will YOU help me stop the babies from crying?"
Will you? It's really important! They'd appreciate it if you do.
"I know a song that always makes me giggle!"
"It sounds like a silly song!"
"It's a REALLY silly song!"
"Can you wiggle? Wiggle, wiggle-wiggle-wiggle!"
"Now, jiggle! Jiggle, jiggle-jiggle-jiggle!"
"AH-CHOO!" (Here we go!!!)
Swiper got his second ornament!
"We've got to shake our capes.
Swiper just realized something.
"But, Dora! I don't HAVE my cape!"
Do you see which baby has a cape?
(Of course it's Baby Swiper!)
"Baby Swiper, no swiping!"
"Oh, maaaaaan!" Baby Swiper moaned.
"Now, we've all got to shake the capes."
"Put your hands to your sides, grab your capes and…"
"Look, we're not babies anymore!"
"We're little kids!"
[But HOW IN THE WORLD is it possible that they still know Dora when she ACTUALLY first met them and became her friends on the day they helped the Fiesta Trio by bringing them their instruments for their performance for the Queen Bee (
You know that story?)?!]
"Hey, that's ME! When Santa brought me a rocking horse!"
"And Toddler Isa loves her new bongos!"
"And there's Toddler Benny with his toy car present!"
"And Toddler Tico riding a new tricycle! They look so happy!"
"And there's my buddy Boots with his new baseball mitt!" Boots LOVED baseball!" (Even when he was little!)
"And that's me with my bunny!" cried Swiper.
"I still have that bunny, Dora.
Benny, Isa, and Tico as toddlers
"Look, I have one, two, three ornaments on my card's Christmas Tree? How many more ornaments do I need?"
"One, right!"
"Come on, let's go and get Swiper off the naughty list!"
(You know the drill!) "Put your hands out to your sides, grab your cape and…"
"Dora, do you think we're in the future?"
"Look! It's me when I'm a BIG kid!"
"Older Dora looks like she's missing something."
"I'm looking at the Christmas Tree, but it's not decorated for the party."
When Dora reaches her older self, she says…
"Um, this is hard to explain…"
"She's YOU when you were younger,
There's nothing left for you to swipe here."
Swiper is learning not to swipe on Christmas."
"You are?!" gasped Older Dora.
"Yeah, I'm learning the true spirit of Christmas."
"That's FANTASTIC! If you can do that, then maybe we can still have our Christmas party!
"I'm gonna try to learn!"
"I don't want the Christmas party to end!"
"Yeah, THERE he is!" cried the two Doras.
"I'm gonna swipe that cape!" said Older Swiper.
"Uh-oh, if Older Swiper swipes the cape, we'll NEVER be able to go back home!"
"I know how to stop me!" (Go, Swiper!)
Unfortunately… "That doesn't work anymore!"
"Older Swiper swiped even after you said, 'Swiper, no swiping'!"
"It's because in the future, you don't listen!"
"After you got on the naughty list, you wouldn't stop swiping, no matter what!"
"THAT's why we stopped having the Christmas Eve party."
"You stopped having the party because of ME?!"
"Well, you'll have to change your way, Swiper."
"I will change! I WILL change! I'll go back home and CHANGE!"
"I can't go back home unless I get my time travel cape back."
"Well, Swiper, I know some friends that can help."
Here comes Older Boots! "Friends!"
"It's Boots when he's older!"
"Great!" said Older Benny.
"I think I know who THAT is!
"Hola, Swiper. ¿Te puedo ayudar?"
"And he wants to help you, Swiper."
"We'll all help if you really want to learn the Christmas spirit."
"We've heard everything, and we wanna help."
"Wow, you really will help me?"
"Come on, let's go get Swiper's cape back!"
"So he can get off the naughty list!"
"But how will we find him?" Older Boots wondered.
"Who do we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?!" the Doras said in unison.
(they giggle)
(What's so funny?)
"The Map, right!"
(Oh, not one, but two maps!)
"Say, 'Maps'! Say, 'Maps'!" Swiper shouted.
They can't hear you! "LOUDER!"
(SPRIIIIIIIIING!)
(SPRIIIIIIIIING!)
It's a double spring this time! Let's see what they'll say!
Wow, look! This is Map and his older self, and the Fiesta Trio with THEIR older selves!
(In the DVD version, they would sing the full song, but in other versions, they would sing the short version.)
Looks like the wrapping paper trail leads to where Older Swiper lives (his castle).
Wow, look at all that litter! What a mess!
when YOU see wrapping paper,
But on our way to the castle,
we see Old Swiper's trash!
"I'm surrounded by all those presents, but I look so sad."
Bah, humbug!" (Boy, you sure are an inspiration of Ebenezer Scrooge, Swiper.)
Which of these ribbons is purple?
There's the ribbon flower!
More ribbons! Do you see a purple one?
Benny got back his baseball hat!
Tico also got back his "nueces" (nuts).
Do you see another purple ribbon?
Do you see another purple ribbon?
"You found it! You found it!"
Gee, Swiper got back all the presents! But something is still missing.
Do you see a purple ribbon?
"Gee, I don't wanna end up like him!" said Swiper.
"All alone on Christmas with no friends!"
"Put your hands out to your sides,
Back to the present they go!
Swiper got all the ornaments, but he still didn't get the star!
"Santa left me something?"
"Dora, can we start the party now?"
and gifts for me now on...
Nochebuena, Nochebuenaaaaaaaaaa!
"Congratulations, Swiper!"
giving, NOT taking away!"
Here comes the Fiesta Trio on a toboggon!
Now EVERYBODY dance!
[Note that Dora and Swiper's capes have disappeared.]
Santa put me on the naughty list,
He cheered up the babies and didn't swipe along the way!
And cleaned up on Christmas Day!
We got Swiper off the naughty list
like Santa said I should!
'Cause Swiper learned it's better
learned a lesson that night!
And that lesson taught him
Swiper shared with his friends!
And that, my mighty elves, is how my story
”YAY!” cheered the elves. Now let’s hear their favorite parts!
This elf’s favorite part was seeing the characters as babies.
The elf next to it liked the travel capes.
This elf liked the part when they wiggled.
This elf liked when Swiper filled up the card.
”Yes for Swiper, that must have been hard!”
”But Dora helped Swiper pass my little test,
and what part of the story did YOU like the best?”
Now, tell them your favorite part!
Looks like the elves like that part too!
Swiper learned the spirit of Christmas!
And remember: we couldn’t have learned without you!
"¡Feliz Navidad!" they all said.
