Production info

This season was produced from 2010-2011.

Trivia

  • In three of the last four episodes of this season, Fátima Ptacek (who will take over in the next season) replaced Caitlin Sanchez as the voice of Dora.
  • This marked the last season for the show's intro music used since the show's third season, as well as for the show to be broadcasted on a standard definition TV format.
  • This is the first season to introduce a more upbeat updated version of the We Did It! song which was actually first heard in the Season 5 episode, Dora's Big Birthday Adventure.
  • This is the first season where Dora asks the entire question on which path the location is on in Spanish (usually the final destination). It occurred more often in Seasons 7 and 8.
  • This season has the least amount of episodes in a single season, that being 18.
  • This season has the second most number of double-length episodes in one single season, that being two.
  • Episodes 13 and 15 are apparently the same episode.
  • This is the second shortest running season out of the eight, since it took exactly two years for all the episodes to be aired (Season 1 is the shortest as it took more than one and a half years (August 2000 and March 2002) to have all the episodes aired.
  • This season is the return of the phrase "So next is (the)…?" during the picture pop-up sequence (second and third).
    • Speaking of the Picture Pop-Up Sequence, this is the last season for the squares to have black outlines, as well as how it was since late Season 2 (first picture pops, Dora says the first location, second picture pops, she says the second, and third picture pops, she says the third), but this is not the last season for the red checkmarks.
      • Beginning with the next season, Dora would tap the left side of the screen, and the three squares would slide in one by one. As each picture pops up, it would bulge towards the screen, and there would be a "ding", the pitch increases one at a time. Additionally, the squares will have a purple outline. This would technically be the return of the pictures appearing on the screen followed by, "[first location], [second location], [third location]!" from Season 1 and most of Season 2.
      • In addition, this is the last season where Dora usually faces right when asking what the next place to go is; beginning with the next season, she will often face left.

Notes

  1. This episode has two different titles. It is titled as "The Secret of Atlantis" on the 2011 Dora the Explorer Paramount Home Entertainment DVD release "Dora's Enchanted Forest Adventures," and it also features a unique opening sequence. However, it is titled as "Dora and Diego Save Atlantis" when this episode airs on Nickelodeon and the Nick Jr. Channel, and it is also listed as "Dora and Diego Save Atlantis" on some streaming services like Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video. Also, unlike on the DVD release "Dora's Enchanted Forest Adventures" (where it is titled as "The Secret of Atlantis"), it does not feature a unique opening sequence, and instead features the normal opening theme for the sixth season of Dora the Explorer. The rest of the episode, however, is exactly the same between the two titles, apart from the different titles in the beginning of the end credits for each episode.
