Summary

There's a music show going on today, but one of the instruments, a little bongo drum named Baby Bongo, falls out of the show truck. So Dora and Boots must get Baby Bongo back to the show so that he can perform for the very first time.

Trivia

• This is the first episode since the Season 4 episode, Baby Crab to be written by Leslie Valdes (the husband of co-creator Valerie Walsh Valdes).
• Dora and Boots stop Swiper by singing "Swiper, no-oh swiping!" to the Coconut Conga tune first heard in Dora Saves the Mermaids. Swiper then sings "Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, man!", to the same tune.
  • This is the third episode where Swiper sings his catchphrase "Oh, man!" rather than saying it normally, the first two being Dora's Pirate Adventure and La Maestra de Música. Unlike those two episodes, he does not sing it in the tune of the Swiper! song, he instead sings it to the Coconut Conga.
• The Fiesta Trio play their fanfares with more rhythm than the original ones.
• The Travel Song is replaced by the new song Traveling Our Way to the Big Show, about getting to the big music show and what instruments everyone is playing.
• This is the third episode where the Coconut Conga is sung after Dora Saves the Mermaids and second being Dora's Big Birthday Adventure.
• The title of this episode is similar to the title of the Noggin show, Jack's Big Music Show.
• When Boots explains about Swiper, the audio track is taken from Dora's Knighthood Adventure, albeit in a higher pitch.
• The YouTube version cuts to the credits without a fade-out, then speeds up the credits, cloud scenes, and Nickelodeon logo using the beginning of the credit music, ending with a whoosh to the left.

Goofs/Errors

• When Dora sings "We can all make music in so many different ways" the first time, she sounds like herself. But when she sings that line the second time, she sounds like Boots.
  • Her mouth, however, doesn't move as Baby Bongo lip-syncs to the line.
