Characters[]

Summary[]

Mami Bugga Bugga Bug needs help carrying a cookie home to feed her little Bugga Bugga Babies. Will you help Dora and Boots on their adventure to the Big Blue Bush?

Plot[]

Dora introduces herself to the viewer and asks if he/she like bugs. She then mentions that she and Boots are on a big hunt. They were looking for bugs that match the ones in Dora's bug book, an ant, a beetle, and a caterpillar. The problem is that Boots does not see any of them. Dora tells him that bugs are really small. She gets out a magnifying glass out of Backpack to make the bugs look bigger. They found marching ants, conga dancing beetles, and a fuzzy wuzzy purple caterpillar. After that, they heard a sound that went "bugga-bugga-bugga-bugga-bugga-bugga-bug!" twice. Dora and Boots found a unique bug called a bugga bugga bug. It was carrying a chocolate chip cookie on its back. The bugga bugga bug got tired and drops the cookie onto the grass, she picks it up, but it slides down back and onto the ground again. Dora explained to the bugga bugga bug that the cookie was too big for her to carry. But the bugga bugga bug is determined to get home with the cookie. She has 10 bugga bugga babies who are so hungry and has to get home to feed her bugga bugga babies. So, Dora and Boots help the bugga bugga bug by having them carry the cookie for her. Dora puts the cookie in her pocket (instead of Backpack) for safe keeping. After that, they introduced themselves and Dora and Boots put their fingers out as a handshake and learned that her name was Mami Bugga Bugga. She told Dora and Boots that she lives in the Big Blue Bush. So, they checked Map and he says that to get to the Big Blue Bush, they had to go past Isa's flowery garden and through a sticky spider web. As Dora, Boots, and Mami Bugga Bugga were on their way to the flowery garden, they meet Isa, who is now light green instead of dark green. They find a whistling flower, a dancing flower and a bug trapper flower (which almost relates to the Venus flytrap). Mami Bugga Bugga gets stuck inside the bug trapper flower and had said say "Abre" (Spanish for open) to get Mami Bugga Bugga out of the bug trapper flower and she was said to free. After passing through Isa's flowery garden, they had to watch out for Swiper the sneaky fox. Swiper moves tall blades of grass, peeks through the grass, he comes out of hiding, swipes the cookie and throws it like a frisbee to hide it instead of eating it! Dora, Boots, and Mami Bugga Bugga had to search for the cookie. It is round like a circle. In no time, they found the cookie up high in the tree. The cookie comes down, Dora catches it and puts it in her pocket. After getting back the cookie, they had to go through the sticky spider web. As Dora, Boots and Mama Bugga Bugga enter the spider web, they came across 4 different paths with different shapes. There was a circle path, a triangle path, a diamond path, and a star path. Dora, Boots, and Mami Bugga Bugga took the circle because they were no spiders there. After making their way out of the spider web, Dora, Boots, and Mami Bugga Bugga got icky or slimed on their hands. They got the sticky stuff off by putting their hands together and slowly pulled them apart. After it broke apart, they shook their fingers. Dora, Boots and Mama Bugga Bugga were getting close to the Big Blue Bush. On their way, a big strong wind started blowing about. It caused Dora to spin like a tornado. The wind blew Boots so far to the right. But, Mami Bugga Bugga gets blown away. After the wind died down, Dora and Boots had to play a listening game to find Mami Bugga Bugga. They hear a "slugga slugga" behind the rock, a "wugga wugga" behind the grass, a "bugga bugga" behind the flowers, and a "mugga mugga" behind the trees. Boots thought that Mami Bugga Bugga is behind the grass, but he was wrong. Behind the grass was a wugga wugga worm. The viewer tells Dora and Boots that Mami Bugga Bugga is behind the flowers. Sure enough, they found her. They also found a slugga slugga slug on a rock, a wugga wugga worm in the grass underground, and a mugga mugga moth in the trees. After finding Mama Bugga Bugga, she leads Dora and Boots to the Big Blue Bush. They got there in no time. It was time to feed the bugga bugga babies. Dora gets out the cookie from her pocket and shows it to them. The Bugga Bugga Babies get excited. Next, they had to break the cookie into 10 pieces for each Bugga Bugga baby. Once the bugga bugga babies got a piece of cookie, they all picked up their cookies at the same time and ate it all up and one of the bugga bugga babies burped, which caused the others to laugh. The bugga bugga babies fly back to their nest and Mami Bugga Bugga blows a kiss to Dora, Boots, and to the viewers at home.

Trivia[]

  • Dora does not put the cookie in her Backpack, she instead puts it in her pocket. This is the first episode where she puts an object in her pocket instead of her backpack. However, in We All Scream for Ice Cream, after Dora gets out the coins out of Backpack to pay for the ice cream, she keeps them in her pocket until the Ice Cream Truck comes.
  • This the first episode where Isa speaks Spanish. She said "abre" to get the bug trap flower to open its mouth to save Mami Bugga Bugga.
  • Tico and Benny do not appear in this episode.
  • This is the 1st appearance of Mami Bugga Bugga and the Baby Bugga Buggas.
  • This is the 16th episode of the show.
  • Mami Bugga Bugga is shown crying in this episode.
  • In the credits, Karen June Sanchez is listed as "Karen J. Sanchez" as the voice of Mami Bugga Bugga. In all other episodes where she voiced a character (prior to Season 4), she will be listed as KJ Sanchez, and her full name will be listed in later episodes starting with Swiper the Explorer.
  • When Dora says "Right behind us?!", the audio is taken from "Hic-Boom-Ohhh!."
  • This is the first episode to premiere in 2001, 21st century, and the 3rd millennium.
    • Although this episode premiered in 2001, it was produced in 2000 according to the end credits.
  • Boots doesn't introduce himself to the viewer in this episode.
  • This is the first episode where Isa is light green.
  • In the end of "We Did It!", Dora does not yell "Yay!". Instead, the Bugga Bugga Babies say it.
  • Map's dancing is recycled from Hic-Boom-Ohhh!.
  • Dora, Boots, and Mami Bugga Bugga say "Swiper, no...", but Swiper swipes the cookie from them. However, unlike other episodes where Swiper swipes the object, they do not finish the sentence with "...swiping!"
