[Today's adventure starts in the rainforest where Dora is pretending to swim... as it's remastered after the original version from the
Pilot.]
"I'm pretending to swim!"
"Today, I’m going swimming at the beach!"
"Hey, Boots, do you wanna go swimming with me at the beach?"
Boots is really excited. "OH, OH! Yeah, yeah!"
"Swimming, swimming, SWIMMING!"
However… "But…I'm not a very good swimmer," he admitted.
"That’s why I bought you a special present," said Dora.
to open my Backpack so I can give Boots his present."
Will you help?
You have to say, "Backpack!"
Say, "Backpack!" Say, "Backpack!"
She can't hear you! "LOUDER!"
Can you find Boots' present? It has a red bow on it.
Is this Boots' present? (No, that's a tomato!)
Is this Boots present? (No, that's earmuffs!)
Is THIS Boots' present?
YES!
Let's see what his present is…
and finds this "interesting" green thing.
Boots wonders what it is.
"I can use the floatie to swim!"
Dora decides to put it in Backpack until they get to the beach.
"Yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum!"
But Boots doesn't know how to get there. "But, Dora!
How do we GET to the beach?"
when we don’t know which way to go?"
The Map, that’s right! The Map can tell us how to get to the beach!
Dora asks: "I need YOUR help. Will you check the Map to find out how to get to the beach?"
There he is! But he didn’t hear us!
"I think you have to say it again."
All right! Up he goes (SPRING)! What will he say? Only one way to find out…
[The map for the episode.]
Dora and Boots need to get to the beach. Map knows how!
First, you have to go over these big hills of yellow sand, called sand dunes.
Then you go down this wooden bridge called a boardwalk.
And that's how you get to the beach!
So you tell Dora: Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach!
"How do we get to the beach?"[NOTE: The animation was recycled from "Hic-Boom-Ohh". It will be used multiple times throughout this season.]
Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach! We go through the yellow sand dunes; then down the Boardwalk; and then we get to the beach!
Okay, so first we have to get to the yellow sand dunes.
Do you see the yellow sand dunes? Where?
There they are! "The sand dunes! The sand dunes!"
Come on! Let's go swimming at the beach!
Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach!
Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach!
Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach!
Dunes, Boardwalk, BEACH!
Come on, ¡vamonos! Everybody, let's go!
Come on, let’s get to it!
I know that we can do it!
To the beach! Where are we going?
(Here comes the Fiesta Trio) To the beach!
Uh-oh! Dora thinks she heard a rustling sound. "Did you hear that?"
"We better watch out for Swiper the Fox!"
Swiper's ALWAYS trying to swipe our stuff!
If you see the fox, yell, "SWIPER!"
WHAT did you say?! Do you see Swiper?
Where'd he go?! "I don't see him!"
He’s going to hide somewhere else.
Where is he now?
Behind the bush?!
"It's the fox!" they yelled.
(But if he's not looking at us, then who is he looking at?)
Dora noticed that Swiper is sneaking up on him instead of her and Boots!
"He's gonna swipe his icy!" Boots thought.
"Boots, Tico speaks Spanish!"
So we have to say, "cuidado."
Help them tell Tico, "cuidado!"
Can you say, "cuidado"? Say, "cuidado!"
Oh, great! Now he's being chased!
Help us stop Swiper! You have to say "Swiper, NO swiping!".
HALT!
(offscreen) "Swiper, no swiping!
"Swiper, no swiping! Swiper, no swiping! Swiper,
NO SWIPING!" Now Tico says it.
How brave!(Dora hugs Tico) "¡De nada!"
Come on, Boots! Let’s go swimming at the beach!
"SWIMMING! SWIMMING! SWIMMING!" Wow! He really is looking forward to it!
We made it to the yellow sand dunes!
"And look, the dunes REALLY ARE big hills of sand!
(Uh-oh, there's a fork!) "Whoa! There are three different paths!"
We ended to fighter out which path to take to get through the dunes.
Look, there's Benny! "Blue, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue!"
"Benny, WHAT are you doing?!"
He said he's trying to get through the dunes.
That's a dead end, Benny!
The blue path won't lead through the dunes, so it's either the red or yellow path!
How do we know which path to take?
Who can we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?
An idea just flew into Boots' head, they can check the Map again to see which path is safe. "MAP! MAP! MAP!" he suggested.
Map, that's right! The Map can tell us which path to take to get through the dunes.
Will you check the Map again, this time to find out how to get through the sand dunes?
…and SPRING! Up he goes, again! Which path is it, Map? Let's see what he says…
Now to finish Map's song.
"
I'm the MAP!"
(NOTE: This part of the song will be used permanently effective immediately after the opening scene of the Season 6/7 episode
A Ribbon For Pinto.)
Map is back on the job! "Hello again!" he said. "You need to tell Dora how to get through the dunes. Which path goes all the way through the dunes? Let's trace the paths and see." Help him find the path that leads through the dunes!
Red, (CRABS! CRABS! CRABS! Better watch out!)
So now that we traced the paths, which one leads through the dunes?
That's right! The yellow path!
"Tell Dora to take the yellow path!"
Now you tell them to take the yellow path!
"Which path should we take?"
"Red, red, red, red, red!"
They've got to stop him! "(Note: Dora's face changes to her Season 1, Version 2 appearance from this scene on.)
"Help us stop Benny! Say, 'STOP, BENNY!'"
He squeals to a stop to see...
"Crabs?!" (Yikes! Benny approaches two red crabs!)
"WRONG PATH!!!" (Fall back, Benny! Red is also the universal color for "danger"!)
Which is the right path through the dunes?
We made it past the Yellow Sand Dunes!
The Fiesta Trio congratulates them.
"Now that I know the way…
I'm going to play again!" Okay, Benny! But, be careful!
We made it past the yellow sand dunes. So next we have to find…?
Now where's the boardwalk?
Do you see the boardwalk?
"WHERE?!" she asked him (and the viewer). Boots points.
Right, there’s the boardwalk!
Dunes, Boardwalk, Beach!
Dunes, Boardwalk, BEACH!
Come on, let's get to it!
I know that we can do it!
TO THE BEACH!!! (There's the boardwalk! That was QUICK!)
But how are we going to get up ON the boardwalk?
"It's too high! IT'S TOO HIGH!" yelled Boots,
Will you help them climb a net ladder onto the boardwalk?
Great! First, put your hands in the air over your head.
We made it onto the Boardwalk!
"The boardwalk is REALLY made of boards!
Dora has an idea… "Say it with us!" (ANOTHER travel song?!)
Come on, let's get to it!
I know that we can do it!
(Looks like it's because they are excited for the beach…) Where are we going? To the beach!
Where are we going? To the beach!
WHERE are we going?! TO THE BEACH!
(They don't spin this time.) TO! THE! BEACH!
"The boardwalk is missing some boards! But, have to go down the boardwalk…"
…so we can go swimming at the beach!" That's right!
Do you see anything we can use to fix the boardwalk?
Great idea! Let's see how many boards we need! "Count the holes with me!"
So we need seven boards! Count out the seven boards with us!
"Good counting! Now count one more time to fill all the holes in the boardwalk."
(The blue cursor helps by clicking on them.) One,
"Yay! You fixed the boardwalk! Good counting!"
(playing fanfare) The Fiesta Trio is here! That means we made it over the boardwalk!
We made it past the yellow sand dunes, we went down the boardwalk, so next comes…?
Do you see the beach? Where?!
Come on! Let's go swimming at the beach!
Boots asks if he can put on his floatie. "Can I? Can I?!"
"Sure!", said Dora, "And I'll put on my bathing suit and get my beach towel!"
Dora needs the following items: Boots' floatie, her bathing suit, and her towel. You have to say, "Backpack".
Say "Backpack", say "Backpack"!
Backpack is back again. Help Backpack find all Dora and Boots' beach equipment. First, do you see Boots' floatie? WHERE?!
Now, do you see Dora's bathing suit? Where?!
Finally, do you see Dora's towel?
"YES! You're really good at this!"
Hey! The towel landed on Boots' head!
"TO THE BEACH!" they said.
(Music begins; SURPRISE, SURPRISE! It's A FOURTH Travel Song!)
Dora has a reminder: Remember to yell "SWIPER!" if you see the fox.
Come on, ¡vamonos! (They don't see Swiper sneaking up on them!)
Everybody, let’s go! (He'll try to swipe Boots' floatie!)
Come on, let’s get to it!
I know that we can do it! (Whoa!)
Where are we going? (Swiper trying to get the bucket out of his leg.)
To the beach! Where are we going?
(Hey! How'd the Fiesta Trio get in there?!) To the beach!
"What's that? You see Swiper?!"
"You're TOO LATE!" (cackles)
"You'll NEVER find it NOW!"
There goes Boots' floatie!
He didn't care when but if, so he ran away.
Boots is sad. "Aww, Boots! It's okay."
"We'll find it!" (She hugs him and holds him)
Will you help find Boots' floatie?
Great!
Let's stop and think… What shape is the floatie?
Right, round like a circle! What color is it?
It's green with yellow polka dots, right!
Now let's look for the floatie!
Can you find the floatie? Remember: It's round like a circle, and green with yellow polka dots.
(LOOK AWAY!)
That's not the floatie, it's a snake!
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
So Dora and Boots meeting up with the lifeguard, Val the Octopus.
"¡Hola, Dora! Hi, Boots!"
"Hi, Lifeguard! Will you watch us swim?"
"SURE!" said Val. Of course she can, because that's a lifeguard's job (to make sure everyone is safe).
"COME ON! CONE ON! I wanna go swimming with my new floatie!"
Don't forget! "Boots, your boots!"
They take of their shoes (Boots' boots and Dora's sandals) and sets the towel aside)
And Backpack lies faced down on the sand.
That sand is REALLY hot on such a warm sunny day. "HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT!" they yelled.
"Ooh! OWW!!!" yelled Boots when his feet are burning. At least they're getting close to the water.
"HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT!" they continued.
"AHH!" they sighed. That water should cool them off!
Look who's here!" Who could it be?
It's Benny. But the sand is burning his hooves. "HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT!
HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT!!!" he yelled.
There he is! "COOL!" he sighed.
"I'm swimming with my new floatie!"
We did it! (Note that no one said that before the song begins playing.)
We did it! We did it! We did it! YAY!
We did it! (Boots says it because Backpack and Map can't come.)
We walked through the dunes to get to the beach!
We walked down the boardwalk to get to the beach!
Swiper swiped my floatie along the way!
"What was your favorite part of the trip?"
Go ahead and share the best part of the adventure to the beach!
"I liked that too!" said Dora, who likes the viewer's response!
"What was your favorite part of the trip, Boots?"
What was it? Let's listen...
Boots liked when Dora gave him his floaty.
Dora’s favorite was saving Tico from Swiper by saying, “¡cuidado!”
And, just in case some viewers forgot, Boots explains that "Cuidado" means "Watch out" in Spanish.
"We couldn’t have made it to the beach without you!"
(click, beep) Enjoy the rest of your beach day!
